Our Story
Books for people who were never taught
Psalms & Saints began with a simple, uncomfortable truth. A lot of people love the Catholic faith and have no idea how to pray.
They come in through a video, a friend, a moment that cracked something open. They fall in love with the beauty and the weight and the age of the Church. And then they kneel down, close their eyes, and freeze, because everyone around them seems to already know what to do, and no one ever showed them.
That is who these books are for. The beginner. The convert. The one who came back after years away. The person standing at the edge, not sure they belong yet. We write for the people the shelves of the Catholic bookstore quietly assume already know the prayers.
What we believe
We believe the treasures of the Church belong to everyone, not just the people who grew up inside them. We believe prayer is not a performance you can fail, but a turning toward God that anyone can begin today. And we believe the best guide is not the one who knows the most, but the one who remembers what it felt like to know nothing at all.
So our books are plain. Warm. Practical. Short enough to actually finish, and gentle enough that falling behind never feels like failure. They teach you to do, not just to understand, because prayer is learned by praying.
A note on what we are, and are not
Psalms & Saints is an independent devotional imprint. We are not a diocese, a religious order, or an official arm of the Catholic Church, and nothing we publish should be mistaken for official Church teaching. When our books and the Church ever seem to differ, the Church is right and we are not. We write to lead beginners toward her, never to stand in her place.
Everything we make is meant to point past itself, toward the Mass, the sacraments, a good priest, and the living Church that has been teaching people to pray for two thousand years. We are only here to help you begin.
